CONGRATUALTIONS TO THE GURHKA'S
Hi my name is Darren Riley and I am happily in a relationship and I live in Kent, Here is a brief history of how i became the BUGLE MAJOR. I started my Army life back in 1991 at Sir John Moore Barracks in Winchester Hampshire were I completed just under 1 year's training specialising in the General Purpose Machine Gun (g.p.m.g) as this was our wartime role, our Barrack Job was bugling None of us knew how to Bugle when we joined but after some intensive lessons we soon became established as competent Buglers.and became involved within the Corunna Band Light Infantry. I served nearly 6 years in the 2nd Battalion Light Infantry in Paderborn Germany and went to a few nice placeswhilst there like Canada, playing at the Halifax Tattoo in Nova Scotia and exercise at B.A.T.U.S (British Army Training Unit Suffield) in Alberta and not so nice places like Bosnia and Croatia and Northern Ireland, and to be fair Northern Ireland was not bad by any standards. And then we found ourselves in Bosnia during the conflict of 94. Since leaving the Army I have established myself as a Professionial Bugler playing at many events including playing for the British Transport Police, ther Mayors of Bromley,Dartford. and last year I was privileged to play in front of many VJ veterans in the VJ parades in Bromley in front of H.R.H Princess Michael of Kent. This is a job which has payed of as i have recently been appointed a Bugle Major of the Royal British Legion. I am available to play at any event you want noticed.
